The £1.5 billion framework has been designed to support the delivery of new homes across the North of England, not only to support Great Places’ affordable development programme but also other housing associations operating in this area.
Lovell has been named on high value lots above 34 units in the North West, East Midlands, North East and Eastern regions.
Tahreen Shad, partnerships director in the North West region led on the project, which will run until 2028.
Tahreen said: “Having been aware of the high-value lots available on the ICN Framework, and seeing the calibre of clients on it previously, we knew the level of competition for applications would be challenging. We are proud to be one of the successful applicants, having been recognised for our technical competence, price and commitment to social value.
“Lovell is committed to delivering more high-quality housing, reutilising brownfield sites and transforming communities, and this appointment from Great Places will ensure we can keep progressing our goals.”
Lovell has an impressive portfolio of work in the North of England, with major regeneration sites currently underway. Miles Platting, a 17-year regeneration near central Manchester is set to complete this year, as well as the Pendleton Project in Salford also entering its next phases. Derby’s Castleward – a multi-million-pound inner city scheme is now onto Phase 3, and there is more in the pipeline for transforming Liverpool and The Wirral.
Through building key relationships with local authorities and housing partners, teams are supporting the delivery of thousands of new homes, across a mix of tenures, and transforming communities in the process.
Social value continues to be a key priority for the latest framework with pledges from successful firms including apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and volunteering hours. The suppliers on the previous four-year framework are set to deliver more than £20m in added social value.
Joanne Whitehead, Great Places’ development performance manager, responsible for managing the framework, added: “We are delighted to be working with Lovell Partnerships on our new ICN framework. We are confident they will be able to work with us and the clients of ICN in delivering the sector’s extensive development ambitions in the North.”
The framework renewal saw a 23 per cent increase in bidders seeking to deliver works and services; 206 companies applied to supply the framework. The majority of bidders applied for multiple lots, and in total 802 bids were evaluated across the 37 lots. New lots for the renewed framework include Apartment Construction, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineering and Retrofit Consultants.
In total 103 suppliers - 34 Contractors and 69 Consultants - were successful across various lots
