Jasmine Antonellou, a participant in our Inspire Programme, has been shortlisted for the Young Builder of the Year Award.

This award recognises young individuals who have overcome significant challenges to achieve success in training or securing employment within the construction industry. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at the House of Commons on Wednesday 20th November 2024.

Jasmine’s journey is a true testament to her resilience and hard work. Despite facing some challenges in her early life, she managed to overcome adversity and successfully completed her NVQ Level 1 in bricklaying in just eight months, showcasing her commitment to personal and professional growth. Her determination was further demonstrated through additional college days and invaluable work experience with Lovell. Simultaneously, Jasmine excelled in her role at McDonald's, where she earned a promotion to crew trainer, all while receiving sponsorship from Lovell through our Inspire Programme.

Jasmine is now working towards her NVQ level 2 in bricklaying from East Coast College, alongside being an apprentice at Lovell.

Jasmine, aged 17 from Hemsby, Norfolk, said: “Being nominated for this award is amazing and proves that hard work and dedication pay off. I hope I can inspire others to overcome significant challenges and achieve success. Good luck to everyone else that has been nominated for this award and I’m really looking forward to attending the ceremony with some of the Lovell team at the House of Commons. I’d also like to thank Lovell for all the support they have given me.”

Jo Ruggles, regional training manager at Lovell, comments: “We believe in nurturing talent and empowering young people to thrive in the construction industry. Jasmine's achievements are outstanding and reflect her hard work and commitment to her professional development. We are proud to support her in her journey and watching her progress in her career.”
